“The third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev 14:9-11).

It is very important that we understand the 3rd Angels message because if we are apart of those that worship the beast and his image we will receive the Mark of the Beast and all those that receive the Mark of the Beast will receive the judgements of God. The 2nd Angels message (Revelations 14:8) and the little horn (Daniel 7:7-24) identifies the Roman Catholic Church as the Great whore called Babylon the Mother of Harlots (Protestant churches). These have made the inhabitants of the earth drunk with the wine of her fornication (Revelations 17:2) and have been leading the people of the earth away from following God according to his Word.

Now that we know the Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant churches have been identified in the books of Revelations (14, 17, 18) and Daniel 7, we should look to these books to see if we can identify what the great deception will be. The book of Daniel further describes one of the key features of the Roman Catholic church as follows; "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:" (Daniel 7:25).

We know that the only reason that God's judgements are coming to this world is to put an end to sin and where ever sin is found and it is those that hold on to their sins that will perish. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom 6:23). The key to understanding this great deception can be found in Daniel 7:25.  The Roman Catholic Church will think to change times and laws.

Just as the Word of God has foretold so many years ago when Emperor Constantine who was a pagan sun worshiper came to power for the Roman Empire in A.D. 313, he legalized Christianity and made the first Sunday-keeping law. His infamous Sunday enforcement law of March 7, A.D. 321, reads as follows: “On the venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed.” (Codex Justinianus 3.12.3, trans. Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, 5th ed. (New York, 1902), 3:380, note 1.)

 

The changing of God's 7th Day Sabbath to Sunday worship was then officially sanctioned by the Roman Catholic church at the council of Laodicea in A.D. 364 (Strand, op. cit., citing Charles J. Hefele, A History of the Councils of the Church, 2 [Edinburgh, 1876] 316).

No serious student of the Scriptures can deny that God instituted the Sabbath at creation and designated the seventh day (Saturday) to be kept holy. “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made” (Genesis 2:2–3). It was later codified as the Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8–11). The Word of God makes it expressly clear that Sabbath observance is a special sign or “mark” between God and His people. There is also no uncertainty that Christ, His disciples, and the first-century Christians kept the seventh-day Sabbath as commanded—the day we now call “Saturday” (Mark 2:28; Luke 4:16). In fact there is not one verse in the entire Bible that sanctions the change of God's 7th Day Sabbath to Sunday the 1st day of the week (more information).

It is the wages of sin that causes death (Rom 6:23). The christian world has been deceived into worshiping God on the wrong day of the week. The Roman Catholic church has changed God's 7th Day Sabbath which is the 4th Commandment of God's Law from Saturday to Sunday the 1st Day of the week just as the Word of God foretold in Daniel 7:25.

God says: "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it"(Ex 20:8-11).

The Catholic church says: “Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday but shall work on that day; but the Lord’s day (Sunday the 1st day of the week) they shall especially honor, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ” The Roman Catholic Church is solely responsible for changing times and laws (Daniel 7:25);

 

The time = God's 7th Day Sabbath changed to Sunday the day of the sun

Laws = God's Law.

 

The 4th commandment (Ex 20-8-11) is the only commandment in God's Law that can fit the description written in Daniel 7:25 about the Roman Catholic church, "and he will think to change times and laws".

Who should we obey, God or man? The Roman Catholic Church has changed God's 7th Day Sabbath (Saturday) commandment to Sunday worship. Today, nearly all Christian Church's of the world are following the Roman Catholic Church's lead. There is not one scripture from the Word of God from Genesis to Revelations that supports this change of God's Law. The 7th Day Sabbath is the 4th commandment of God's Law (Ex 20:8-11). The Word of God tells us that if we break one commandment we are guilty of breaking all of God's Law. Sin is transgression or breaking of God's Law and the wages of sin is death. (Rom 6:23; James 2:10-11).

 

It is only sin or the breaking of any of God's commandments that bring the judgements of God. The people of the earth were destroyed by a flood in the days of Noah because of sin. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of sin. All through time the judgements of God have only come to the inhabitants of the earth because of sin (the wages of sin is death). Breaking God's 7th Day Sabbath is just as much a sin as killing someone (James 2:10-11).

Today if you will hear his voice harden not your heart for God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2Peter 3:9).  Seek ye the Lord while he may be found call upon him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7).

 

All of us have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is Death but God has made a way of escape for us (Romans 6:23). For God so loved the world that he gave us his only boggott0n son, that whosoever should believe on him, including his death on the cross for our sins will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This is a free gift from God to you to help you to be ready (Romans 5:15-18). Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Matthew 4:17) and God's judgements are coming! If we accept God's free gift all we need to do is turn away from sins by seeking God everyday, confess our sins to God in private to him and he will forgive us our sins and will cleanse us from all wrong doing and save us from the coming judgements (1John 1:9; Rev 7:3). Today God is calling his people "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (Rev 18:4).
