WHAT IS THE GREEK MEANING OF THE LORD'S DAY?
There seems to be some debate and confusion over which day "the Lords day" is referring to in Revelation 1:10 the meaning of the scripture from Greek to English is translated from the KJV
Revelation 1:10 [10], εγενόμην εν πνεύματι εν τη κυριακή ημέρα και ήκουσα φωνήν οπίσω μου μεγαλήν ως σάλπιγγος
Revelation 1:10 [10] I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.
In the Koine Greek, "the Lords day" κυριακή (kyriakós; G2960) ημέρα (hēméra: G2250) simply means the day belonging to the Lord or the Lord's ownership of "the day".
The word "κυριακη" (translit. "kuriake") is an Adjective - Dative - Singular - Feminine. This means it is being used as a 'possessive' as ownership or belonging to ("of", see 1 Corinthians 11:20, "the Lord's supper"), which means the "day" in context belongs to "the Lord". It is literally "the Lord's (belonging to) day". This means, that the "day" in context is uniquely "the Lord's" out of all the 7 days of the week, for the day under consideration is that which exists within the week, as a day which repeats weekly. This is extremely important, as those who incorrectly assume it to mean "the first [day] of the week" in lieu of Jesus' resurrection, cannot get a weekly occurrence out of a one-time event, in fulfillment of typology of the Firstfruit/Wavesheaf in Leviticus 23:9-14, as made known in 1 Corinthians 15:20; 23
WHAT DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT?
With the above Koine Greek meanings in mind the next question can be considered. What day is "the Lords day" referring to from the scriptures that the Lord specifically claims ownership of?
Matthew 12:8 For THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY
So according to the very words of Jesus in the scriptures "the Lords day" is the Sabbath day. Here we can see Jesus claiming that he is the Lord of the Sabbath day, taking ownership which is the meaning of κυριακή ημέρα (the Lords ownership of the Sabbath day)
John in Revelation 1:10 is referring to Jesus as creator of heaven and earth by calling Jesus the Lord of the Sabbath just as he did in John 1:1-4; 14. The Lord's day is the Sabbath day!
Mark 2:28, Therefore THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH.
Luke 6:5 And he said to them, that THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH.
Once again the Sabbath day is "the Lords day" and Jesus is taking ownership of the Sabbath day meaning he is the creator God of the Sabbath; meaning he is the God of creation and the creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 2:1-3)
WHAT DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY FROM OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE?
We have seen above from the new testament scriptures that Jesus claims to the the Lord of the Sabbath day. That is he claims to be the God of creation and the Lord of the Sabbath claiming ownership of of the Sabbath day which is the meaning of κυριακή ημέρα (the Lords ownership of the day). According to the scriptures of the new testament Jesus is claiming ownership of the Sabbath day.
In the old testament God has also always claimed ownership of the Sabbath day has His...
Isaiah 58:13 [13] If you turn away your foot from the SABBATH, from doing your pleasure on MY HOLY DAY; shall honor him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words and call the SABBATH a delight, THE HOLY DAY OF THE LORD honorable; and
Exodus 31:12-18 [12] Then the Lord said to Moses, [13] Say to the Israelites, You must observe MY SABBATHS (belonging to; ownership to the Lord; or LORD'S DAY). This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
Leviticus 19:30 You shall keep MY SABBATHS, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover also I gave them MY SABBATHS, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
Once again God is claiming ownership of the Sabbath day (Revelation 1:10 κυριακή ημέρα) calling the Sabbath "my holy day" or "the holy day of the Lord" and "My Sabbaths"
Deuteronomy 5:14 BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD...
Leviticus 23:3 ... THE SABBATH OF THE LORD...
Exodus 31:15 ... THE SABBATH OF REST HOLY TO THE LORD
Exodus 20:10 BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD...
Once again God is claiming ownership of the Sabbath day (Revelation 1:10 κυριακή ημέρα) to the "Sabbath of the Lord" or "the Sabbath of rest holy to the Lord".
WHY DOES GOD AND JESUS CLAIM OWNERSHIP OF THE SABBATH DAY?
Why then does God and Jesus claim ownership of the Sabbath day (Revelation 1:10 κυριακή ημέρα)?
Genesis 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. [2], And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] on the SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made. [3], And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY: because that in it he had RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] from all his work which God created and made.
Links to God’s 4th Commandment
Exodus 20:8-11 [8], REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY [Made Holy at creation Genesis 2:3]. [9], Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: [10], But THE SEVENTH DAY [Genesis 2:1-3] IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD : in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: [WHY?] [11], FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM IS, AND RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY; WHEREFORE THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY. [Referring to Genesis 2:1-3]
God claims ownership of the Sabbath because on it he rested from creating the heavens and the earth where he blessed the Sabbath as a holy day of rest for all mankind as a memorial of creation and a celebration of God as the creator of Heaven and earth (Mark 2:27-28).
CONCLUSION
The "Lords day" is the Sabbath day according to the scriptures. There is no scriptural links to "the Lords day" in Revelation 1:10 being in reference to "Sunday" or the "the first day of the week". In Revelations 1:10 "Lords Day κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ does not link to any scripture reference in the NEW TESTAMENT to μιά των σαββάτων (the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK). In Revelation 1:10 κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ is used in reference to the Lord's ownership of the day which as shown above from the scriptures from both the old and new testament that the day Jesus and God claims ownership of is the Sabbath day. Revelation 1:10 says no where in the scriptures that this day is in reference to μιά των σαββάτων which means the first day of the week. The claim that "the Lords day" is Sunday is a teaching and tradition of men that is not supported in the scriptures.

CHALLENGE FOR THOSE WHO CLAIM SUNDAY IS THE LORD'S DAY
Your challenge here is that if you disagree with the scriptures provided above that prove that "the Lords day" from Revelation 1:10 is the Sabbath day, please provide a single scripture from God's Word showing that "the Lords day" in Revelation 1:10 is referring to Sunday or the first day of the week. Scripture only please as we know what the man-made teachings and traditions of men are in regards to "the Lords day" from sources outside of the bible. This OP is to examine if these outside sources outside of the bible are biblical or not.
God bless...
OH! I know the answer to this one from the Bible (KJB)! (What day is the Lord's Day according to Scripture?)

The word "my" is a Pronoun, that is replacing or substituting for a Noun, "JEHOVAH" or "LORD".
The word "holy" is just an adjective, a descriptor of the "day", or what kind of "day" it is in relation to the other six days of the week.
The word "day" refers directly, in context, to "the sabbath".
The word "the" is the definite article, specific in its intent.
Thus to rephrase the sentence, "my holy day", and simply leave out the adjective, we could read it as:
"my [the LORD's] ... day [the sabbath]", or simply "the LORD's day".
Even honest commentaries exist:
Commentaries - https://www.studylight.org/commentary/revelation/1-10.html
Peter Pett's commentary makes this accurate note:
"... Sunday is not called ‘the Lord’s day’ (he kyriake hemera) anywhere in Scripture ..."
Dr. Thomas Constable likewise states the same truth:
"... The New Testament writers never called Sunday the Lord"s day elsewhere in Scripture. ..."
Richard Chenevix Trench has stated on record, and accurately that:
"... “Some have assumed, from this passage, that ἡμέρα κυριακή was a designation of Sunday already familiar among Christians. This, however, seems a mistake ..."
Likewise, Foy E Wallace states:
"... It is not a reference to the first day of the week ..."
Well, what then is John referring to in context?
The Phrase "the Lord's day" is found in use in the OT, as shown from Isaiah 58:13, etc. John is not making up any novel (new) idea, but the Holy Ghost is inspiring and citing from the OT scriptures, as is done all over Revelation 1. Called an "epanados”, Chiasm or parallelism:
(1) Isaiah 55:4 --> Revelation 1:5 (Witness)
(2) Daniel 7:13 --> Revelation 1:7 (Coming with Clouds of angels)
(3) Zechariah 12:10-14 --> Revelation 1:7 (Pierced and Wail)
(4) Isaiah 41:4,6 --> Revelation 1:8 (I AM)
(5) Isaiah 58:13 --> Revelation 1:10 (The Lord's day)
(4) Isaiah 41:4,6 --> Revelation 1:11 (I AM)
(3) Zechariah 4:2 --> Revelation 1:12 (Candlestick, Sanctuary, HolyPlace)
(2) Daniel 7:9,13,22 --> Revelation 1:13-15 (Priest)
(1) Isaiah 49:2 --> Revelation 1:16 (Sharp Sword)
Revelation 1:10 is simply citing Isaiah 58:13 in the midst of a parallelism from the OT.
The phrase “the Lord’s day” cannot refer to the eschatological “Day of the LORD”:
(1) John was “in the Spirit on the Lord’s day”.
(2) John is not merely shown the future (Revelation 1:7), but also shown the past & present. While Revelation 1:7 does reveal the future Advent of Jesus (Day of the LORD, the final 1,000 years of the Great Cosmic Week of God, whose beginning and ending are separated by Jesus’ 2nd and 3rd Advents (Revelation 20; Isaiah 24, &c.)), it wasn’t yet taking place the day John received the vision (the Lord’s day, the 7th day of the weekly cycle, the sabbath):
Revelation 1:19 - Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
[A.] past – the things which thou hast seen
[B.] present - the things which are
[C.] future - the things which shall be hereafter
(3) Jesus’ actual location in the vision is seen to be “in the midst of the seven candlesticks” (Revelation 1:13). This is the Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary (Tabernacle) above (Psalms 77:13; Hebrews 8:5; 9:23; Revelation 11:19, 15:5), where Jesus still ministered.
(4) In Revelation 1, Jesus is not dressed as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, as later (Revelation 19:11-16), but is dressed as the great High Priest (Revelation 1:13-15) and ministering among the 7 branch candlestick of Heaven, that more of mankind might be saved by the Everlasting Gospel (Revelation 14:6-12). When Jesus changes garments and comes with the clouds (angels) of Heaven in the fullness of glory, the Gospel is no longer effective, and His ministration therein ceases (Revelation 8:5, 10:7).
(5) Those who incorrectly assume the phrase “the Lord’s day” to mean "the first [day] of the week" in lieu of Jesus' resurrection, cannot get a weekly occurrence out of a one-time event, in fulfillment of the yearly typological First fruit / Wavesheaf in Leviticus 23:9-14, as made known in 1 Corinthians 15:20,23. Not one Gospel or Epistle calls “the Lord’s day” the “first [day] of the week”.
(6) Consider the language itself, “τηG3588 T-DSF κυριακηG2960 A-DSF ημεραG2250 N-DSF”, as the word "κυριακη" (transliterated "kuriake") is an Adjective - Dative - Singular - Feminine., thus used as a 'possessive' ("of", see 1 Corinthians 11:20, "the Lord's supper"), and not like the phrase "day of the Lord" (ἡμέρα κυρίου) which is in the genitive masculine (see 2 Peter 3:10, &c; see also so called septuaginta (lxx) uses), which John calls the "great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:14).

Isaiah and John make a distinction between "the Lord's day" (the 7th day, the Sabbath), and "the Day of the LORD" (final 1,000 years of the Great Cosmic Week (7,000 years) with God):
Revelation 1:10 KJB - "the Lord's day" (7th day, the Sabbath")
Revelation 16:14 KJB - "that great day of God Almighty." (final 1,000 years)
Isaiah 58:13 - "the Lord's holy day" (7th day, the Sabbath)
Isaiah 2:12, 13:6,9, 34:8 – “the Day of the LORD” (final 1,000 years), as it is elsewhere:
"day of the LORD" (Deuteronomy 31:17-18; 1 Samuel 3:12, 8:18; 1 Kings 22:25, 22:35; 2 Chronicles 18:24, 18:34; Job 3:3-4, 21:30; Psalms 110:5; Isaiah 2:11-12,17,20, 3:7,18, 4:1-2, 5:30, 7:18,21,23, 10:20,27,32, 11:10-11,16, 12:1,4, 13:6,9,13, 17:4,7,9, 19:18-19,21, 23-24, 20:6, 22:12,20,25, 23:15, 24:21, 25:9, 26:1, 27:1-2,12-13, 28:5,19, 29:18, 30:23,25, 31:7, 34:8, 52:6, 58:5, 61:2, 63:4, 66:8; Jeremiah 1:10, 4:9, 25:33, 30:8, 31:6, 39:17, 46:10, 49:22,26; Lamentations 1:12, 2:1,21-22; Ezekiel 7:7,12,19, 13:5, 22:24, 24:27, 27:27, 29:21, 30:3,9,18, 38:14,19, 39:11,22, 48:35; Hosea 1:5,11, 2:16,18,21, 5:9, 9:5; Joel 1:15, 2:1-2,11, 2:31, 3:14,18; Amos 1:14, 2:16, 3:14, 5:18,20, 8:3,9-10,13, 9:11; Obadiah 1:8,15; Micah 2:4, 3:6, 4:6, 5:10, 7:11-12; Nahum 3:17; Habakkuk 3:16; Zephaniah 1:7,8,9,10,14,15,16,18, 2:2-3, 3:8,11,16; Zechariah 2:11, 3:9,10, 9:16, 11:11, 12:3,4,6,8,9,12, 13:1,2,4, 14:1,3, 14:4,6,7,8,9,13,20,21; Malachi 3:2,17, 4:1,3,5; Matthew 7:22, 10:15, 11:22,24, 12:36, 24:36,50, 25:13; Mark 6:11,13:32; Luke 6:23, 10:12, 17:24,30,31, 21:34; John 6:39,40,44,54, 8:56, 11:24, 14:20, 16:23,26; Romans 2:5,16, 13:12; 1 Corinthians 1:8, 3:13, 5:5, 2 Corinthians 1:14, Philippians 1:6,10, 2:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:2,4; 2 Thessalonians 1:10, 2:2,3; 2 Timothy 1:12,18, 4:8; Hebrews 10:25; James 5:5; 1 Peter 2:12; 2 Peter 2:9, 3:7,10,12; 1 John 4:17; Jude 1:6; Revelation 6:17, 16:14, 18:8.

"the day of their calamity"(Deuteronomy 32:35);
"the day of vengeance"(Proverbs 6:34);
"the day of the LORD's anger"(Lamentations 2:22);
"day of the LORD's vengeance"(Isaiah 34:8);
"the day of vengeance of our God"(Isaiah 61:2);
"the day of vengeance"(Isaiah 63:4);
"the day of the LORD's wrath"(Zephaniah 1:18);
"Day of God"(2 Peter 3:12);
"great day of God Almighty"(Revelation 16:14).),
or "the last day" (John 6:39,40,44,54, 11:24, 12:48),
the 1,000 years of Revelation 20:1-7,
the "many days" of Isaiah 24:22),
In the rest of Isaiah, when he refers, by inspiration of the Holy Ghost, to "the Day of the LORD", it is always in a differing phrase and context. See - Isaiah 2:12, 13:6,9, 34:8.
(7) The context shows that the "day" spoken of, in each texts presented is "the LORD('s)". John as a physical Jew, who was following the Messiah (Jesus), thus a Christian, was on the Isle of Patmos, for what reason?
Revelation 1:2 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ …
Revelation 1:9 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ …
It is even given in other places:
Revelation 6:9 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony ...
Revelation 20:4 KJB - ... the witness of Jesus ... the word of God ...
What is this "word of God" and the "testimony/witness of Jesus"?
We do not have to in any way guess, for John tells us in parallel fashion:
Revelation 12:17 KJB - ... the commandments of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ.
This is found way back in the OT:
Deuteronomy 4:2 KJB - ... the word which I command you, ... the commandments of the LORD your God ...
So, when John references "the Lord's day", it is in the context of "the word of God", which are God's Commandments. Well, which commandment then? Again, we do not have to guess, for John tells us:
Revelation 14:7 KJB - ... worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 14:12 KJB - ... keep the commandments of God ... the faith of Jesus.
What specific commandment, was John citing? The 4th Commandment, specifically, Exodus 20:11,
Exodus 20:11 - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
That little word "of" (Exodus 20:8-11) is possessive. Thus when God speaks, by His own voice, the He (the LORD) has chosen a specific (definite article) "day", it is thus "the LORD('s) ... day", being His sabbath, the 7th day, from the foundation of the world in Genesis 2:1-3,4, where therein it is "God('s; the LORD's) ... day".
The "word of God" = God's commandments:
Isaiah 1:10 - ... the word of the LORD ... the law of our God ...
Thus the "testimony of Jesus" is the Spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10):
Revelation 19:10 KJB - And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
As it is, all throughout the OT:
2 Kings 17:13 KJB - ... the LORD testified ... by all the prophets, and by all the seers ... keep my commandments ... the law which I commanded ... by my servants the prophets.
Psalms 19:7 KJB - The law of the LORD ... the testimony of the LORD ...
Psalms 78:5 KJB - ... a testimony ... a law ...
Proverbs 29:18 KJB - ... vision ... the law ...
Isaiah 8:16 KJB - ... the testimony ... the law ...
Isaiah 8:20 KJB - ... the law ... the testimony ... this word ...
Lamentations 2:9 KJB - ... the law ... prophets ... vision from the LORD.
Ezekiel 7:26 KJB - ... a vision of the prophet ... the law ...
Matthew 22:40 KJB - ... the law ... the prophets.
Romans 3:21 KJB - ... the law ... the prophets;
Therefore, notice again the connection of the Apostle and prophet John, who receives a "vision", in connection with keeping God's commandments, and was resting specifically on "the LORD's day":
Revelation 1:2 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ …
Revelation 1:9 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ …
Revelation 1:10 KJB - I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Revelation 6:9 KJB - ... the word of God ... the testimony ...
Revelation 12:17 KJB - ... the commandments of God ... the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 20:4 KJB - ... the witness of Jesus ... the word of God ...
The Law (Lord's day) and the testimony (spirit of prophecy) again are witnessed therein in its proper context.
It always speaks of the 7th day the sabbath of the LORD, His holy day.
Line upon line, and no need for a single non-scriptural source to re-define by the man of sin’s (Pope, Papacy, Papal Rome) tradition, the so-called ‘ECF” (Easily Confused Fellows), or imaginative commentaries.
In Latin, we see it similarly used in Exodus 20 (Jerome's Latin is without the definite article, as Latin does not use definite articles):
Revelation 1:10 - fui in spiritu in dominica die et audivi post me vocem magnam tamquam tubae
Which is akin to Genesis' "God's day":
Genesis 2:1 - igitur perfecti sunt caeli et terra et omnis ornatus eorum
Genesis 2:2 - conplevitque Deus die septimo opus suum quod fecerat et requievit die septimo ab universo opere quod patrarat
Genesis 2:3 - et benedixit diei septimo et sanctificavit illum quia in ipso cessaverat ab omni opere suo quod creavit Deus ut faceret
Whereas the differing apocalyptic day, "the day of the Lord" in Latin is "dies Domini" as in Zephaniah 1:14:
Zephaniah 1:14 - iuxta est dies Domini magnus iuxta et velox nimis vox diei Domini amara tribulabitur ibi fortis
Some have said that "the Lord's day" is simply unique, and that if John (in Revelation 1:10) had meant "sabbath" he would have written "sabbath".
This is actually presumption, based upon a false apriori, about what certain individuals themselves think the Holy Ghost/Spirit ought to have inspired John to write. Beware, that is a very dangerous path to take.
They also say that "sabbath" is always called "sabbath" in the NT.
Actually, No.
The "sabbath" is called "sabbath" in the NT, that is for certain:
Matthew 12:1,2,5,8,10,11,12, 24:20, 28:1;
Mark 1:21, 2:23,24,27,28, 3:2,4, 6:2, 7:6-9, 15:42, 16:1;
Luke 4:16,31, 6:1,2,5,6,7,9, 13:10,14,15,16, 14:1,3,5, 23:54,56;
John 5:9,10,16,18, 7:22,23, 9:14,16, 12:1 (calculated), 19:31;
Acts 1:2, (4:24), 13:14,27,42,44, (14:15-16), 15:21, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4;
Yet, it is also called God's "rest":
Hebrews 3:11,18, 4:1,3,4,5,8,9,10,11
It is also called "the seventh day":
Hebrews 4:4
It is called "the seventh":
Hebrews 4:4
It is also referred to as being "according to the commandment":
Luke 23:56
It is also referred to as the culmination of the 7 day week:

Matthew 28:1(b) - (Koine Greek) εις μιαν σαββατων (Transliterated) eiV mian sabbatwn

It is also referred to as "the day (that is approaching in the week (also the great Cosmic final day, dual use)”
Hebrews 10:25
So, actually, the "Sabbath" has several designations in scripture (OT-NT).
1. The seventh day
2. Sabbath of the LORD
3. My (God's) rest
4. My (God's) holy day
5. The holy (day) of the LORD
6. (God's, the LORD'S) day
7. That day approaching (dualistic)
8. The Lord's ... day
9. It
10. The Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation
11. His (God's) rest
12. (God's day to) Remember
13. Hallowed (day)
14. Sanctified (day)

Additionally, further references in the Greek are [every single 'first [day] of the week' text, as each text clearly shows that the first day is simply a number, with no special association or designation, other than it is simply one day toward the culmination of the week, being the 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God]:
Genesis 1:5 (Masoretes Hebrew) יום אחד׃ (Transliterated) yôm echäd f [pointing to the 7th day at the culmination; Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Deuteronomy 5:12-15]

That the Sabbath [of the Lord thy God], [being] the 7th day, is always the culmination of the week in God's Created order and is always referred to as such in all of scripture.
Therefore, every single “first [day] of the week” text upholds the 7th Day Sabbath, and is undeniable evidence of its continued existence and prominence.
(Matthew 28:1 (a,b); Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1 all refer to the same day, the 'first [day] of the week' just after Jesus arose from the tomb. This in effect makes it a single reference, just repeated about the one time (not weekly) yearly event as seen in Leviticus 23, Feast of Firstfruits. Yet even so, in the koine Greek every single 'first [day] of the week' text clearly shows that the first day is simply a number, with no special association or designation, other than it is simply one day toward the culmination of the week, being the 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God]:
Acts 20:7 - (Koine Greek) εν δε τη μια των σαββατων (Transliterated) en de th mia twn sabbatwn
(Acts 20:7, is a final farewell visit by Paul, who was going around "confirming the churches", and always preached on Sabbath (Acts 16:8,11, 20:5,6; 2 Corinthians 2:12; 2 Timothy 4:13), and Paul always waited seven days (Acts 13:14,27,42,44, 15:21, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4, (20:6, 21:4, 28:14)), so that he could keep the Sabbath with fellow Jews, and Proselytes (see Acts 2:10; 13:26,42-43,44,45-46,47-49, 14:1,2,15-16, 15:17,19,21, 17:17) and preach the gospel upon that sacred day (Acts 17:2), just as Jesus had; Luke 4:16-21). In this instance, after Sabbath was complete, they met again and continued in fellowship and preaching, and had a final farewell. There is no evidence of a 'Lord's supper' here (no footwashing, basin, towel, fruit of the vine, cup, service, weekly pattern, daytime meeting, etc)). This special gathering, was held at night from after about 6pm to midnight, until morning (sunrise), to see Paul off. There is no repetition (cycle from week to week) of this event occurring in scripture, nor any weekly meeting (pattern) established on the first [day] of the week here.
1 Corinthians 16:2 - (Koine Greek) κατα μιαν σαββατων (Transliterated) kata mian sabbatwn
(1 Corinthians 16:2 is a semi-unique passage which refers to an extra or special and personally/individually gathered collection taken up privately (not even regular offering, nor tithe/first fruits, nor even at a church or synagogue (but at one's own individual home), for the specific poor in a specific place, Jerusalem, for the dearth/famine; Acts 11:28; 1 Corinthians 16:3 that had been prophesied) after the sabbath was over, for Paul to pick up later when he came by.) There is no evidence of any 'service', 'Lord's supper' (and all that goes with it), gathering of the body of believers, scripture reading, prayer, foot washing, towel, cup, fruit of the vine, etc here. It's all a private individual matter.
Acts 2:1 KJB - And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:1, referring to Pentecost, which if calculated would fall upon "the first [day] of the week", based upon the yearly (not weekly, or monthly) festal calendar found in Leviticus 23. This event was then completely fulfilled as it states in Acts 2:16-21,33; Revelation 5:6; Psalms 133:1-3; &c. Even afterwards in Acts 2, it says that the disciples met "daily", in the "Temple", and even from "house to house" (vss 46-47).
John 20:1 - (Koine Greek) τη δε μια των σαββατων (Transliterated) th de mia twn sabbatwn
John 20:19 - (Koine Greek) τη μια των σαββατων (Transliterated) th mia twn sabbatwn
These references are to the second and even third day of the week (John 20:1; context of Luke 24:13-36, already dark by the time of the upper room, which is another reason they did not recognize Jesus entering with the two other disciples from Emmaus, for He had walked back with them, unseen, and entered unseen, even as Jesus had done so with the two while walking before they had reached their own house. There is no teleporting, or ghosting through walls here. Jesus has a real body of flesh and bones (immortal)) and later (John 20:19) effectively and respectively (contextually, John 20:1 being a reference to a period of time after the sun had set, and the next reference (John 20:19) to after eight days beyond that).
If one does the calculation of the time that this (John 20:1,19) takes place, that it is actually the first evening portion of the second day of the week? Seriously, go back and read the account by Luke, then combine with this passage.
Luke 24:13 KJB - And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
Luke 24:14 KJB - And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
Luke 24:15 KJB - And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
Luke 24:16 KJB - But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
Luke 24:17 KJB - And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
Luke 24:18 KJB - And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
Luke 24:19 KJB - And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
Luke 24:20 KJB - And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
Luke 24:21 KJB - But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
Luke 24:22 KJB - Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
Luke 24:23 KJB - And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
Luke 24:24 KJB - And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
Luke 24:25 KJB - Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Luke 24:26 KJB - Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
Luke 24:27 KJB - And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Luke 24:28 KJB - And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
Luke 24:29 KJB - But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
Luke 24:30 KJB - And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
Luke 24:31 KJB - And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
Luke 24:32 KJB - And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Luke 24:33 KJB - And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
Luke 24:34 KJB - Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
Luke 24:35 KJB - And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
Luke 24:36 KJB - And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Let's look again:
Luke 24:29 KJB - But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
Luke 24:30 KJB - And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
We can see that they (disciples and Jesus) were still walking to Emmaus while it was yet "day" (light out, with the sun still out), and yet it began to grow late in the day, and the sun was beginning to go down. It was getting near supper time. It was not yet night (sun down). Yet, while they eat, Jesus makes known who He is, and vanishes from their sight (no, Jesus is not aethereal, He is simply invisible to their eyes), and they being astonished, run all the way back to Jerusalem where the other disciples were hiding behind closed doors. Now the distance from Emmaus to Jerusalem, we are told, is "threescore furlongs" ("A Greek measure of length, being 600 Greek ft., or 100 orguiai equal to 606 3/4 English ft., and thus somewhat less than a furlong, which is 660 ft." - Link and thus is about 7-8 Miles going uphill as we would know them).
7-8 Miles is a long way to run when the sun is setting, going back uphill (Jerusalem, the city on a hill). This would take quite a bit of time, and also to relate what they had seen before Jesus appears. It would be dark, by the time these reached Jerusalem and the other disciples, being the final "evening" (when the sun did set, see Mark 1:32).
Therefore, when John says,
"Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."
We know the timeframe it refers to. It was the end of the first day of the week, in the "evening", when the sun was set, which in reality, is another way of saying the 'second [day] of the week', contextually. The text refers to the "evening" at the end of the "first [day] of the week" which scripturally means the actual "second [day] of the week".
This is not a rewriting of the text here. It is simply a demonstration in technicality that John is using a parallel language to say the same thing another way. It would be akin to saying the "Robe is purple.", and another person saying, the "Robe is a mixture of the shades of red and blue." Again, it can be said that the 11 apostles were in the locked room on the 'first [day] of the week' (for fear of the Jews mind you), all the time that the events on the road to Emmaus took place, the supper, and the two running back to Jerusalem, and by the time they got there the evening came and the second day started.
Thus it was in actuality the second day of the week that Jesus appeared to them. Then we see another appearance "after eight days", which would place the following meeting, again, no matter how it is calculated (inclusive or exclusive), not upon the "first [day] of the week", but afterward:
John 20:26 KJB - And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

What can we gather from these things?
The body of believers may gather on any and every day with no injunction anywhere found in scripture against such, and in truth they met "daily", "continually", etc (Matthew 26:55; Mark 14:49; Luke 22:53, 24:33,36; Acts 19:9) and likewise among the followers of Jesus Christ (Luke 24:51,53; Acts 1:3,9, 2:46-47, 5:42, 6:1, 16:5, 17:11,17; Hebrews 3:13, etc). The problem lies in the sin of transgressing the 4th Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11), by overstepping in it or neglecting it.
Christians gathered on every day of the week, when possible, as did the Jews.
Acts 2:46 KJB - And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Acts 2:47 KJB - Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Acts 5:42 KJB - And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Acts 6:1 KJB - And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
Acts 16:5 KJB - And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Acts 17:11 KJB - These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 19:9 KJB - But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
Paul even preached daily:
Acts 17:17 KJB - Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
The first day of the week was no more special than any other of the six working days. Yet the sabbath, the 7th day, the Lord's day was always special, always gathered on and therein rested.
None of that extra gathering, is qualification of disobedience to (breaking) the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17), especially the 4th (Exodus 20:8-11) in its explicit command to "rest" and not "work" "the seventh day the sabbath of the LORD".
Just in the book of Acts alone, there many sabbaths explicitly recorded.
Acts 13:14,27,42,44, 15:21, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4, (20:6, 21:4, 28:14; Paul always waited seven days, so that he could keep the Sabbath with fellow Jews, and Proselytes (see Acts 2:10; 13:26,42-43,44,45-46,47-49, 14:1,2,15-16, 15:17,19,21, 17:17) and preach the gospel upon that sacred day (Acts 17:2), just as Jesus had; Luke 4:16-21).
Paul in the book of Acts, and in his Epistles (Romans to Hebrews) meets with Jews, Gentiles and Christians upon the ”sabbath” (the 7th day) many times (Acts 13:14,27,42,44, 15:21, 16:31, 17:2, (3 consecutive sabbaths) 18:4 (“every sabbath”; also vs 11, a “year and six months”, which is 52 weeks + 26 weeks, being 78 consecutive sabbaths met together on by both Jew and Gentile with the Apostle Paul and others, and in Acts 18:23, “he had spent some time there” (several sabbaths); in Act 19:8, “for the space of three months” (6-12 sabbaths); in Acts 19:10, “continued by the space of two years” (104 sabbaths), “in Acts 19:22, “for a season” (several sabbaths), in Acts 20:3, “three months” (6-12 sabbaths), and in Acts 20:7 (afterward, meets with the disciples again that night which begins the next day), and in Acts 20:18,31, “all seasons, ”a space of three years” (156 sabbaths)),
John was still keeping the sabbath (of the LORD, the 7th day, "the Lord's day"; Revelation 1:10; Isaiah 58:13; just as Jesus had said so long before; Matthew 24:20) in AD 90+.
Matthew 24:20 KJB - But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
There is no consistent meeting only upon the "first day of the week" in all of the New Testament; day or night.
The Last Week Of Jesus’ ministry timeline; irrefutable by scripture (KJB):
[the 7th Day Sabbath of the LORD thy God]
Jesus at Lazarus' house in Bethany [Mt. Olivet] – [John 12:1]
[the first [day] of the week]
Jesus Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, "the next day" from leaving Lazarus' house, Hosanna! - [John 12:12,13; Matthew 21:10; Mark 11:11], goes to the Temple, and after looking around, leaves, since it was close to evening back out unto Mt. Olivet.
[the second [day] of the week]
